Habitat Garden for On-Site Learningg |
Our design was for a 8,000 square foot open space directly outside the school.
The space is used for outdoor, hands-on experience of the natural sciences and other cross-curricular lessons
in a K-5 learning program
that was designed by staff at the Highlands Center for Natural HIstory and CSES teachers.

habitat garden.

|
Students from the school place the first block of "urban-crete" (blocks made from recycled concrete slab).
|
Steve lends a hand teaching parents and students techniques for construction
of the "urban-crete" wall.

|
The design for the pathway above the outdoor amphitheater leads through example of several of our local biotic communities -- representative plants were selected for grasslands, chaparral, and woodlands.
